Stinging Barrier could be useful in a control deck that aims to stall the game and control the board with its Defender ability and ability to deal damage. However, there are better options available such as Wall of Frost which provides more defense with its ability to tap down attacking creatures. Stinging Barrier may not see much play in competitive decks due to its limited impact compared to other cards.
