Mental Journey would benefit control decks in Magic: the Gathering, providing card advantage and the flexibility of basic landcycling for mana fixing. While it offers a decent card draw option, there are better alternatives like Fact or Fiction or Chemister's Insight that provide more value for the mana cost. Mental Journey may see play in budget or casual decks, but competitive decks would likely opt for more efficient card draw options.
