A 3-cost black Digimon like Protecmon (especially as a standard/Appmon security-themed card) would fit best in a black control, blocker-focused, or security-based deck that aims to slow the opponent down, build a defensive board, and win through incremental advantage rather than speed, particularly if it supports traits like Reboot, Blocker, or security manipulation; it would be most useful in budget builds, early-game stabilization roles, or archetype-specific Appmon/security synergy decks. However, in most competitive black decks, there are generally stronger rookies or low-cost plays—such as searchers, memory-efficient rookies, or cards like Chikurimon (for anti-hybrid tech), ToyAgumon (for DP boost synergy), or other archetype-specific staples that provide better inherited effects or disruption—so unless Protecmon has uniquely strong synergy or a powerful inherited effect, it likely would not see consistent competitive play and would be more of a niche or casual inclusion.
