About Alpine Guide

Alpine Guide, Snow creature — human scout, designed by Wayne Reynolds first released in May, 2019 in the set Modern Horizons. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 2.36.

This card would be beneficial in a red aggressive deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly and attacking with creatures. While Alpine Guide provides a quick way to fetch a Mountain and potentially ramp up mana, its downside of sacrificing a Mountain when it leaves the battlefield could be a drawback. Other cards like Solemn Simulacrum or Burnished Hart may be better alternatives for ramping in red decks, but Alpine Guide could still see play in specific strategies that can take advantage of its abilities effectively.

Rules

06/14/19

If Alpine Guide can’t attack for any reason (such as being tapped or having come under a player’s control that turn), then it doesn’t attack. If there’s a cost associated with having it attack, its controller isn’t forced to pay that cost, so it doesn’t have to attack in that case either.
