This card could be beneficial in a red aggressive deck that focuses on quickly dealing damage to the opponent. By not being able to block alone, Craven Hulk encourages players to attack with multiple creatures, which fits well with an aggressive strategy. However, there are likely better options available that offer more versatility or power for the same mana cost, such as Goblin Chainwhirler or Earthshaker Khenra, making it less likely for Craven Hulk to see play in competitive decks.

Although Craven Hulk can’t be the only creature you declare as a blocking creature, it can be the only creature that blocks any given attacking creature. Other blocking creatures don’t have to block the same creature Craven Hulk does.

Once Craven Hulk has been declared as a blocking creature, it will remain in combat even if all other blockers leave the battlefield or are otherwise removed from combat.
