This Dread Shade card would fit well in a mono-black aggro deck that aims to quickly overwhelm the opponent with a swarm of creatures. While Dread Shade's ability to pump itself can be useful for increasing its power and toughness, there are potentially better options like Vampire Nighthawk or Phyrexian Obliterator that offer more versatility or immediate impact. However, if the deck focuses on aggressive strategies and has ways to generate a lot of black mana, Dread Shade could still see play as a solid finisher.
