**Obsidian Memory Boost!** (commonly known as **Black Memory Boost!**) is best suited for **Black-based decks that value consistency and memory fixing**, such as **BlackWarGreymon, Machinedramon, D-Brigade, Alphamon (black base), or other control/midrange black builds**, since it searches the top 4 cards for a Black Digimon and later gives +2 memory via Delay to extend plays or set up big turns. However, in the current game, many decks prefer **Black Training** (from the Training option card cycle), which is often considered better because it costs less, still searches, and provides a powerful digivolution cost reduction that enables faster tempo plays, making it more efficient overall. That said, Black Memory Boost is still solid in slower or more control-oriented builds that want extra memory boosts and search consistency, though it’s no longer an automatic 4-of in optimized lists.
