Etrata, the Silencer would be a great addition to a control or tempo deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a win condition that can quickly close out games. While Etrata's ability to exile creatures and potentially win the game is powerful, it can be slow to set up and requires protection to ensure it can deal combat damage consistently. Other cards like Nicol Bolas, the Ravager or Thief of Sanity may offer more immediate impact, but Etrata can be a fun and unique choice for players looking for a different win condition in their deck.

If the player controls no creatures, Etrata’s ability doesn’t resolve. Etrata remains on the battlefield and its owner doesn’t shuffle their library. The same is true if the target creature is an illegal target when Etrata’s ability tries to resolve.
