Hyemon’s low 3-cost play and built-in **Retaliation** make it best suited for aggressive or control-oriented **purple decks that want to trade up in battle**, especially rookie-rush, retaliation swarm, or deletion-synergy builds that benefit from Digimon being deleted (such as decks that gain memory, draw cards, or trigger on-deletion effects). It can act as a cheap deterrent against larger Digimon, forcing opponents to think twice about attacking or blocking. However, there are generally stronger rookie options in competitive purple decks, such as **Gazimon** (which memory-chokes the opponent), **DemiDevimon** (for consistency and draw power), or other rookies with impactful inherited effects that provide ongoing value rather than just a trade. While Hyemon can be situationally useful in very budget or retaliation-focused builds, it typically does not see high-level competitive play because purple has more efficient and synergistic rookies available.
