However, in most competitive black decks, there are generally stronger rookies or low-cost plays—such as searchers, memory-efficient rookies, or cards like Chikurimon (for anti-hybrid tech), ToyAgumon (for DP boost synergy), or other archetype-specific staples that provide better inherited effects or disruption—so unless Protecmon has uniquely strong synergy or a powerful inherited effect, it likely would not see consistent competitive play and would be more of a niche or casual inclusion.
